Simon is an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with a particular interest in the therapeutic value of writing. He is also an experienced educator and group facilitator, both online and in person. As a lecturer at PCI College, he specialises in personal and professional development. He has facilitated workshops around writing and wellbeing for PCI and Big Smoke Writing Factory, and leads his own creative/reflective writing groups for therapists. He has also co-facilitated Outhouse's personal development course for gay and bisexual men. Before becoming a counsellor, Simon lectured in Japanese language and culture at DCU, and the spirit of support, respect and creativity that underpinned his teaching approach then continues to inform his therapy and group work today.
