Sean Lonergan

Associate Lecturer

Sean is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with the BABCP. He has 14 years of experience of CBT practice treating adults in the UK and Ireland both face to face and online presenting with mild to severe mental health difficulties in primary care, as outpatients and inpatients following hospitalisation. He has specialised in working with adults with mood disorders in particular depression and Bipolar disorder and in providing group CBT over the past 3 years. He has engaged in psychoeducation of mood disorders for professionals and the public via workshops, seminars, and webinars. He advocates for greater understanding of and de-stigmatisation of mood disorders. He has worked as a CBT clinical supervisor for 8 years and enjoys guiding and mentoring other CBT therapists in their ongoing continuing professional development.
