BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy
Adrian holds a MSc in Applied Social Science/Social Work awarded by UCD in 2004. Since then, he has been working in CAMHS with the St. John of God’s Community Mental Health Services as a senior social worker and CBT/DBT therapist. He completed his MSc CBT in UCD in 2010 and received his CBT accreditation with BABCP in 2014. Adrian is also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and, more recently, EMDR. In addition to his work in CAMHS, he also works part-time in private practice (exclusively with adults) in the Arduna Therapy Centre, Clontarf.

Aisling has an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (Clinical) from the Tivoli Institute and Carlow IT. Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy, Diploma in Psychotherapy, Post Graduate Diploma in Supervision and Reflective Practice from Annie Sampson, Post Graduate Certificate in Jungian Psychology and Art therapy from Limerick IT, Mindfulness facilitation training. She is an accredited supervisor with IACP & IAHIP.
Her other training includes; Internal Family Systems, Group therapy, Train the trainer, Trauma work with Babette Rothschild, Motivational Interviewing, Couples Therapy, Death Doula, CAM Suicide intervention training, STORM suicide training and Mindfulness for kids.
Additionally, Aisling has a diploma in Nutrition, Sports Injury Therapy, Massage, Reflexology, Sports and Recreation and Is a qualified yoga teacher running an ITEC recognised yoga teacher training college in Galway called Optimum Health. She works with trainee therapists in different colleges, lectures, supervises and group supervises. She has completed many other additional shorter qualifications and trainings.
Aisling has her own private psychotherapy and supervision practice in Galway City and Kinvara. She also runs educational programmes in the HSE’s National Counselling Service and runs her Yoga Teacher Training courses.
Aisling has worked with many organisations including Student counselling and Wellness in University of Galway, Aids Help West, Ability West and many other private businesses and organisations.

Ali is a BACP accredited counsellor, and a registered social worker. She has been engaged in therapeutic work since 2002, with her practice focusing on engagement with marginalised and disadvantaged communities. In addition to her work in Belfast, Ali has several years’ experience of group facilitation in Boston and San Francisco. She holds an LLB (Hons), MSc in Counselling, and Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work. Her PhD research is concerned with strengthening the relationship between social justice and counselling, drawing on feminist and critical perspectives. Ali has been a lecturer in Higher Education since 2017 and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling
Anita, originally from County Limerick completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling whilst attending the University of Notre Dame, Western Australia. Anita was also the recipient of The Gerty Ewen Award. Following her qualification, she worked in multiple agencies addressing a range of issues which broadened her experience.
This included working as part of multidisciplinary teams in a drug and alcohol addiction facility, needle exchange centre, homeless shelter, sexual assault unit, veteran support, low-security prison for 18 to 24-year-old parolees, and a family resource centre for children being abused.
Anita returned to Ireland in 2017 and took on a role with Pieta House, broadening her experience in crisis intervention for suicidality and self-harm, as well as co-facilitating the Resilience Academy in secondary schools throughout the Midlands.
At present, she has a busy private practice in the Midlands working with adults, couples, and adolescents using an integrative approach. Anita’s area of focus is working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She also presents workshops on “Incivility in the Workplace”, and “Streamlining Your Private Practice for Therapists” and presents mental health talks in various settings.
As part of her Master of Science Degree in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, her research topic concentrated on “Reclaiming sexual empowerment after surviving childhood sexual abuse from the perspective of therapists in private practice in Ireland”.
Anita is both a compassionate and passionate therapist who promotes ethical practice. She intends to nurture student therapists to become the best therapist they can be and to encourage excellence in the profession of counselling and psychotherapy so that clients can have positive counselling experiences.

Anne Marie holds an honours degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and is fully accredited with the IACP. Her therapeutic practice in Clonmel and online has a basis in Person-Centered Counselling, drawing on other approaches as appropriate including Gestalt, Existentialism and Family Dynamics. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Anne Marie had a business career specialising in leadership and ongoing personal development. Anne Marie joined PCI as an Associate Lecturer academic year 2023-2024.

MSc Systemic Family Psychotherapy
Brian is an accredited Systemic Family Psychotherapist registered with the Irish Council of Psychotherapy and the Family Therapy Association of Ireland. His private practice is based in Stillorgan, Dublin and Laois where he works therapeutically with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families drawing upon evidence based best theory and practice in a confidential and non-judgemental manner.
Brian has several years lecturing experience as well as several years’ experience designing and delivering undergraduate and post graduate degree programs in Ireland and abroad.
His research interest relates to high conflict relationship breakdowns and the impact of these on children and young people. He has been invited to deliver his research findings at national and international post graduate research conferences such as St. Petersburg, Russia, European Parliament Brussels, Queens University, Belfast, the Tavistock Clinic, London, British Psychological Society, and Dublin City University among others.
Brian is passionate about inviting professionals and practitioners to consider integrating systemic family ideas and interventions into their existing skill set enabling and empowering practitioners working with one or more individuals in a therapeutic setting.
Another area of Brian’s practice relates to family law mediation. He is accredited with the Mediator’s Institute of Ireland where he facilitates separating couples to retain decision making control regarding the dissolution of the marriage / relationship resulting in legally binding agreements as an alternative to the lengthy, costly, adversarial and arbitrary court process that can last many years perpetuating conflict, adding to the emotional and psychological distress to children and young people as well as dis-empowering parents from making their own decisions about their own lives in a timely manner. Brian Mainly runs CPD for PCI College in his area of expertise of Family work.

Aside from lecturing with PCI Carol runs a private practice in Co. Mayo, working with adults and couples. Practising from an integrative style of counselling with the person-centred approach and its philosophy of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard at the heart of each and every session. Carol also holds the position of Student Development & Progression Officer for our Athlone Students. The role as Student Development and Progression Officer (SDPO) is at the heart of this Care Team and a direct point of contact for both students and lecturers concerning actively supporting the development of the therapist in training throughout their programme.

Chris an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor with an interest in substance misuse disorders and mental health. He is an experienced tutor and group facilitator and works both online and in person. Chris is passionate about counselling and self-development and facilitates workshops in MI as well as counselling approaches and skills. Further work facilitated learning for young people excluded from mainstream education, adults returning to education and leadership training. He continues to work as a manager of counselling services and contributes to the development of policy and practice in community-based interventions for people with substance misuse disorders and mental health across NI.

Ciara completed her Certificate and BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy with PCI College and is fully accredited by the IACP. She completed PG cert in Mediation and Conflict resolution and has training in a range of areas including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Complex Trauma and SFBT. Ciara set up her private practice in 2016 and now runs a well-established practice in Dublin 7.
For a number of years’ Ciara worked in a secondary school setting, supporting students’ wellbeing and offering therapeutic services.
Ciara has a lot of experience working with adolescents and adults in the areas of self-harm and suicide intervention.
Currently her works is mainly focused on working with clients struggling with BPD, Emotional Dysregulation and Complex Trauma. Drawing upon a broad range of therapeutic training in her work, enabling her to develop an integrative style of working to help a wide range of clients. Ciara facilitates weekly DBT skills groups and works individually with clients, as part of a DBT team of Therapist.
Ciara has a passion for wellbeing and personal growth. She has successfully blended her background in performance and her expertise in well-being with creative endeavors.
From cofounding ‘Skoolbox,’ an interactive learning platform, to choreographing for national campaigns and TV shows and addressing the importance of fitness and mental health on national television. Demonstrating the transformative power of the arts in promoting well-being.
Ciara also facilitates CPD trainings for professionals and Organisations in the helping profession.
Having a keen interest in Education and lifelong learning Ciara has joined PCI, lecturing on both the Certificate and Degree programme.

Clair is an accredited Supervisor and Therapist who has worked for over ten years with adults, adolescents and children. Clair is the psychotherapist and student support co-ordinator in a secondary boarding school in Dublin. The school has over 700 students, 300+ are boarders. In 2020, Nala – a therapy dog from The Irish Guide Dogs for the blind, joined Clair in her work with adolescents. Alongside her therapeutic work, Clair lectures, facilitates groups and supervises students embarking on their dissertations for their Master’s in Education.
Clair works from an integrative framework and has specific interests in: Therapy dogs, gender based violence, active consent and creating safer spaces for adolescents.
Her passions are family, learning, live music, and walking.

She currently lectures on the Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy while also working as a therapist in private practice where she primarily supports adult neurodivergent clients.

Colette completed a Masters in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy following completion of the Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP). She is a pre-accredited member of IACP, a member of the IACP Southern Region Committee and a National Executive member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC). Colette is also a registered counsellor with the Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI).
Colette previously completed a BA Degree (Hons) in Psychology and Archaeology; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling with University College Cork (UCC). She has over 18 years of experience working as a Guidance Counsellor and Psychology Teacher in full-time Further Education. Her role also includes management of the Disability Support Service within the Cork College of FET.
Colette recognises and understands the importance of working with the client in a collaborative manner, sharing decisions and being present at each step on the personal journey of the client. This forms the core approach in her work with clients.
She is currently working with adults in Private Practice and with My Mind. She uses a pluralistic approach incorporating a range of approaches to suit the individual client’s needs.

Colm is a founder member of The Centre for The Care of Survivors of Torture (CCST) in Dublin and of the former H.S.E. Asylum Seeker And Refugee Support Service in Drogheda (ARCSS).
Colm works as a clinical supervisor, psychotherapist and tutor. He has an interest in Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) schemes and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) work. He maintains a private practice online and he is interested in cross cultural counselling and the psychoanalytic discourse.
At PCI College he manages the students in Year 2 of their BSc study programme and he lectures in humanistic and existential psychotherapy as well as personal development and psychoanalysis.

Dan studied with PCI College completing our certificate course and gaining qualifications of diploma, and BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Dan has been a practicing counsellor/psychotherapist, in Dublin since 2016. He works from an integrative approach with a foundation in humanistic counselling/psychotherapy. Incorporating CBT, Solution-focused, and psychodynamic perspectives depending on the needs of the client. Dan held position of Psychotherapist with Pieta, for over 2 years working specifically in the areas of Suicide Intervention, Self – Harm and Bereavement, and is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
His role as Academic Support Officer is to provide flexible programme support through various pathways, such as guidance and mentoring to Associate and new Lecturers, co-ordination and management of Student Development & Progression Officers. The role of SDPO is at the heart of the Care Team at PCI. A direct point of contact for both students and lecturers actively supporting the development of the therapist in training throughout their programme. and advocacy, marketing, and recruitment support. Dan is one of our faculty lecturers, lecturing on the Certificate and the BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Dan also holds the position of Dublin Academic Team Leader and manages Student Concerns & Resolutions. The primary role of the Academic Team Leader is to provide academic and administrative leadership within the Dublin region. Duties include ensuring Lecturers provide a top-quality learning experience to students along with overseeing the delivery of your programme to the highest standard and within the expectations of the college as stated within college policies and procedures. Dan acts as the main point of contact and guidance on all informal/formal student concerns in line with college policies and procedures through the establishment of effective reporting channels. Initiates relevant mechanisms for investigation/response, which includes facilitating discussions on resolution within the framework of the college guidelines. Oversees all actions required to address concerns/complaints in line with the appropriate college policies and procedures.

David lecturers on the BSc & Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy. David is an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP).
As well as working with PCI College, David also runs a busy private practice providing counselling, psychotherapy to individuals, specialising in working with younger people. David also provides workshops in Secondary Schools across Ireland in topics such as mental health awareness, exam preparation and building reliance, social media pitfalls and personal development for teenagers in the modern world. In this work, David aims to empower people to embrace emotions that they may experience as negative or overwhelming with the aim of building their resilience and becoming more self-aware, confident and motivated.

David McPhillips has worked with adolescent substance misusers and has previously worked with long term unemployed as well as working as a trainer for a number of years. David is a qualified ACRA trainer, holds a PhD from the University of Limerick and an MSc from Trinity College in Drug and Alcohol Policy. David’s interests lie in the area of addiction and recovery, engagement and creative interventions.

Apart from lecturing for PCI College she assists in training undergraduate psychology Students on placement with Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Programme. Before becoming a counsellor Diane lectured in management and personal development for Southern Regional College, Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, and regionally across organisations in health and social care, where she was also a coach and a coach supervisor. Her work with groups and individuals embodies acceptance, compassion and intuitive connection.

Counselling Psychologist with Psychological Society of Ireland
I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist with Psychological Society of Ireland and an accredited CBT supervisor and therapist with BABCP, having qualified 25 years ago. I am involved in the CBT programmes at PCI College.
Much of my work has been within the UK NHS, including senior clinical leadership, expert clinical practice, training and research. My teaching and training roles span academia, health care and corporate settings working with a wide range of professionals.
My voluntary sector experience includes working with overseas NGOs and UK based charities, predominantly working with the impact of extreme and complex trauma supporting capacity building across multiple systems.
I am passionate about using evidence-based therapies including CBT, EMDR and systemic modalities, to work collaboratively with individuals and teams to help them better understand their psychological wellbeing and to feel more confident in making meaningful changes to improve their lives. I have specialist skills and knowledge in working with people presenting with complex trauma, severe depression and anxiety, and with psychological distress associated with physical illness.

Dr. Teresa Graham works in private practice as a Counselling Psychologist, has a degree in Psychology and Sociology from University College Cork, an MA in Sociology from WIT a PHD in Sociology from the University of Limerick, a Diploma in Counselling from the Institute of Counselling in Glasgow, a Diploma in Psychology from the Open University and a Diploma in Life Coaching from Newcastle College. She belongs to the British Psychological Association, and is qualified to carry out psychometric assessments, Is a Certified Mediator, specialising in family mediation, and mediation through separation and divorce and is member of the Irish Professional Mediators Organisation, and an Associate with Arc Mediation, Waterford. , Teresa lectures in Sociology at degree level for DCU and Counselling at foundation and degree level for PCI College, Dublin. She has been accepted by the Court Services as being qualified to do child assessments in Family Law cases and has been doing this work for thirteen years, is a patient advocate and her research interests include health care and personal development. Has acted as External Examiner for Galilee House and MTU.

Eileen is an accredited Adolescent & Adult Psychotherapist, Life, Career & Public Speaking Coach, certified trainer & professional speaker. She spent over 30 years in nursing and nurse management & witnessed first-hand stress, burn-out & vicarious trauma in many colleagues.
Eileen set up her own company to pursue her passion for emotional health, self-care, resilience, personal development, pain management, education, and empowering change. Eileen believes that everyone has the potential to live a happy and fulfilled life despite the many obstacles’ life can throw in their way. Lecturing on our Certificate Programme. Eileen holds the position of Student Development & Progression Officer for our Students in Kilkenny.
