Martin RicePsychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Martin holds a Diploma and BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College validated by Middlesex University.  His post-graduate training includes a Cert in Relational Gestalt Therapy from Dublin Gestalt Centre and a Cert in Co-Creational psychotherapy with Dr Tony Humphreys (IARM).  His continuing professional development includes Individual Gestalt Therapy and Gestalt Couples Therapy (GATLA) and further couples training in Emotion-Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method.  Martin is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).  He is currently undergoing training in Gestalt Supervision with the Dublin Gestalt Centre.  In line with the ethical codes of this professional body, he completes further training each year and attends regular clinical supervision as well as his own personal therapy.



Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

In addition to his training in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy, Martin has over fifteen years of experience in the field of mindfulness and personal development.  He uses this training, knowledge and experience to facilitate and work with whatever a client may bring to a session.  He endeavours to create a safe, supportive and confidential space for each person to explore their personal challenges at their own pace.


Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

He has experience working with both individuals and couples, encompassing couples of all sexual orientation including same-sex, on a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) anxiety and depression, addiction, anger management, low self-esteem, bereavement, sexuality, sexual abuse, addiction, intimacy and relationship issues, sports injuries, work-related issues and post-traumatic stress.
