Georgina has been a counsellor with over 13 years of experience, working in my own private practice and in a NHS GP surgery, supporting individuals and couples. She has extensive counselling experience encompassing a range of issues including depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship and grief counselling, drugs and alcohol, trauma and suicidal ideation, with particular area of interest in anxiety, work-related stress and trauma. Over the last decade as a counselling supervisor and was granted senior accredited supervisor (individuals) by the BACP. Supervising qualified counsellors and counselling trainees. Previously worked in the education sector since 2004 starting in a large comprehensive school and then in a grammar school, counselled for issues such as exam stress; relationship problems –friends, parents, family; self-harm; suicidal ideation; body dysmorphic disorder; eating disorders; bullying and low self-esteem. Also a trainer for Cruse Bereavement Care and then became a tutor at Belfast Metropolitan College, tutoring courses in counselling. I Practicing as an Integrative counsellor, utilizing a compassionate person centred ethos, cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis and psychodynamic theory.
