Colette Twomey

Associate Lecturer

Colette completed a Masters in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy following completion of the Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP). She is a pre-accredited member of IACP, a member of the IACP Southern Region Committee and a National Executive member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC). Colette is also a registered counsellor with the Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI).

 

Colette previously completed a BA Degree (Hons) in Psychology and Archaeology; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling with University College Cork (UCC). She has over 18 years of experience working as a Guidance Counsellor and Psychology Teacher in full-time Further Education. Her role also includes management of the Disability Support Service within the Cork College of FET.

 

Colette recognises and understands the importance of working with the client in a collaborative manner, sharing decisions and being present at each step on the personal journey of the client. This forms the core approach in her work with clients. 

 

She is currently working with adults in Private Practice and with My Mind. She uses a pluralistic approach incorporating a range of approaches to suit the individual client's needs.
