Certificate in Advanced CBT

In this module students will be introduced to some of the many developments in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies

The aim of the module is to build on the introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapies in Module 2a, and to introduce students to some of the many developments in the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies since Beck’s original model was developed, e.g. expanding the idea of Case Formulation, Young’s Schema Therapy, Linehan’s Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Gilbert’s Compassion Focused Therapy, Hayes’ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and contributions such as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.
