Professional Certificate in Positive Psychology

For helping professionals who want to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate Positive Psychology into their practice.

Course Details

Positive psychology is a scientific study of optimal functioning that includes topics such as character strengths, self regulation, resilience, post traumatic growth, optimism and many more. Recently it was extended into therapy in a form of a structured series of evidence based activities which  enhance individuals' well-being. Research shows that certain Positive Psychology activities can prove more effective in reducing depressive symptoms and anxious episodes than traditional approaches.

In this 30hr course, our expert will critically review Positive Psychological findings in easy to understand language. She will introduce the main activities and measurement tools used by therapists practicing Positive Therapy and discuss the role of Positive Psychology in therapy.

This is the first Positive Psychotherapy course offered in Ireland. The course is ideal for both new and experienced therapists wanting to expand  their professional skills with the new and exciting science of Positive Psychology.

By the end of the course, you will :
- familiarise yourself with the main theories of Positive Psychology and their application in therapy
