The Ethical Intricacies of Counselling Practice Today

Ethics in Counselling a complex area that needs constant upgrading and updating of our knowledge base. This workshop aims to bring simplicity to what is not at face value simple.

Course Details

Not alone is Ethics in Counselling a complex area which can strike fear into the heart of some counsellors, it also an area that needs constant upgrading and updating of our knowledge base, especially in the key areas of Law,  “context” Contracting, note-taking, ethical decision-making models and Child Protection…not to mention the advanced proposal re Statutory Regulation of our profession.

This workshop aims to bring simplicity to what is not at face value simple. It will be driven by key directives but is also very interactive where member Case Studies are welcome and ethically processed.

Shakespeare once wrote (through the voice of Lady Macbeth): “To be thus is nothing but to be safely thus” Sound Ethical Practice has the client’s safety to the fore….but good ethical practice also protects the counsellor ensuring safety for all stakeholders,  longevity of practice and avoidance of burnout.
