  Eoin Stephens

College President

One of Ireland's leading Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Eoin has worked at a senior level in the fields of addiction counselling and training, as well as private practice.  He has held positions on various committees of both the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Irish Association for Alcohol and Addiction Counsellors.

   
  Joanna Byrne

Head of Operations and Development
Since graduating from the University of Limerick with a Master of Business Studies, Joanna has gained almost 10 years experience in the Customer Relationship Management and Operations Management fields. Joanna has a keen interest in management development and personal development and recently trained as a Life & Business Coach with the Coach Institute of Ireland. In her role at PCI College, Joanna ensures the smooth running of all aspects of the college, and leads all business development ventures. She is also head of our Department of Personal Development.
   
   
Linda McGuire

Programme Leader
An experienced Counsellor and child psychotherapist,  Linda was previously involved with the development and coordination of two professional counselling services in the Leinster area, one in the field of separation and the other with 11 to 25 year olds and their families.  Linda was the lead tutor on the BSc in Addiction Counselling here at PCI College. She is a certified trainer of M.T.P. (Multi-sensory Trauma Processing) and has many years experience in this specialised area.
   




  Dr. Mairi Keenleyside
B.Sc., Dip. Clin. Psychol., D.Phil., BABCP

Co-ordinator South Region   
Mairi is a distinguished Oxford University Graduate, and a Registered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. She is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with the Health Service Executive and has an interest in integrating CBT with other psychotherapeutic approaches. She has taught on Masters and Doctoral programmes in counselling and clinical psychology in Ireland, UK and USA. Mairi also has a particular interest in therapeutic recreation and using outdoor pursuits to promote mental health.
   
  Dr. Barbara Dowds
B.A., Ph.D., Dip. Creat. Couns., Cert. Body Psych., Cert. Gestalt, MIACP, MIAHIP

Co-ordinator BSc Upgrade Programme
Barbara was a university lecturer in  molecular genetics.   She is now a psychotherapist in private practice and she is on the teaching faculty with PCI College where she has responsibility for the BSc Upgrade Programme. Barbara is on the editorial board of Eisteach the journal of IACP.



Liam McCarthy

Liam who was one of the founding members of PCI College sadly passed away this year. Liam was a rare and special individual, and we are privileged to have known him, to have worked with him, to have benefited from his skilled and charismatic teaching, and indeed from his unique presence. His contribution to the field of counselling and psychotherapy in Ireland is immeasurable.

Liam was actively involved in therapist training since 1978.  He was a qualified adult educationalist, counsellor, psychotherapist and an acknowledged curriculum designer.  In 2006 Liam was awarded the inaugural Carl Berkeley memorial award in recognition of his contribution to counselling and psychotherapy in Ireland.

Josephine C. Murphy

Formerly a tutor at St. Patrick's College, Maynooth and a member of the faculty delivering the M.Sc. in Family Counselling (Iona College, New York).  She maintains a private counselling and psychotherapy practice.
