Professional Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

 Integration / Assesment Day
 
Additional course Requirements
Prior to participants involvement in Module 5 the Integration Day Participants will be required to provide evidence of completion of 20 hours supervised relevant client work, and submit a 2,500 word essay on a topic relating to CBT. The Integration Module will solidify learning and provide an opportunity for case discussion and supervision.

About the Course

The Professional Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is designed to equip helping professional with the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy into their practice.  Applicants will ideally have a professional qualification in counselling, psychotherapy or similar – accreditation is not necessary.

The course will commence with an introduction to the history and evolution of CBT, and will focus on the cognitive processes and behavioural laws of learning.  The approaches presentable are usable, up-to-date and strongly evidence based.  Participants will learn to observe, assess, evaluate, and formulate treatment using the client’s environmental influencers as well as their thoughts, moods, and emotions, and behaviour.

The assessment is a written assignment.

Eoin is one of Ireland’s leading Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and trainers, and has been working in the area of mental health and therapy for more than 25 years. He is currently President of PCI College, Director of CBT Solutions therapy centre and the Centre for Sexual Addictions, and winner of the 2010 Carl Berkeley award presented by the IACP. He is a former Vice-Chairperson of the IACP and the IAAAC.



Laura Turley MIACP
BSc. (Hons) Couns./Psych., BSc Psych., MA Add. Stud., Prof. Cert. in CBT, PG Dip in CBT

Laura holds an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Addiction Studies, an Honours Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and a Higher Diploma in CBT. She works with a wide range of issues including depression, panic attacks, addiction, grief, low self-esteem, trauma, eating disorders and stress. She has a particular interest in the anxiety disorders, including obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and social phobia.
