It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Liam McCarthy, our esteemed founder and friend.

25.02.2010

Liam died peacefully on Wednesday night, surrounded by his family. The College have extended deepest sympathies to his family on behalf of all staff, students and graduates.

Liam was a rare and special individual, and we are privileged to have known him, to have worked with him, to have benefited from his skilled and charismatic teaching, and indeed from his unique presence. His contribution to the field of counselling and psychotherapy in Ireland is immeasurable, and we plan to mark that contribution in various ways as the year progresses.

The funeral arrangements are as follows:

Friday 22 January: Removal of remains from home at 5.30 pm, for 6.00 pm in St. Brigid’s Church, Main St., Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

Saturday 23 January: Funeral mass at 11.00 am.

As a mark of respect the college will be closed on Saturday 23 January.
