Advanced Person-Centred Workshop | Marjorie Travers

Recent Developments in the Person-Centred Family.

How has Person-Centred theory, practice and research developed in recent years? It is over 50 years since Carl Rogers began sharing his challenging and ground-breaking theory which has been hugely influential in the counselling world. This work-shop will be explorative and experiential in nature. It will draw mainly on the work of David Mearns, Mick Cooper, Pete Saunders, Brian Thorne and Eugene Gendlin.

The following themes will be visited-
  • The Power of Presence and Relational Depth.
  • Spirituality in the Therapeutic Encounter.
  • Thinking at the Edge.
  • Ethical and Practical Implications of some recent research in Person-Centred Counselling.

It is envisaged that participation in experiential exercises will deepen understanding of this sometimes misunderstood and undervalued approach which has still much to offer.
